Official Music Video: Spice Girls - Wannabe

The music video for "Wannabe" was the first for director Jhoan Camitz. Camitz was hired on Fuller's recommendation because of his commercials for Volkswagen, Diesel, and Nike. His original concept for the video was a one-take shoot of the group arriving at an exotic building in Barcelona, taking over the place, and running a riot—the same way they did when they were looking for a manager and a record company. A few days before the shoot on 19 April 1996, Camitz was unable to get permission to use the building, and the shoot was relocated to the Midland Grand Hotel in St. Pancras, London.

Single Of The Day: Nizlopi - JCB

"JCB" is a folk pop song by British group Nizlopi. It is the second single from Nizlopi's first album "Half These Songs Are About You". It was released as CD single by FDM Records on 12 December 2005 and peaked at #1 on UK Singles Chart.

The song is a reminiscence of childhood, based on singer Luke Concannon's own memories. It is sung from the point of view of a young boy, travelling with his father on his JCB digger, listening to Christy Moore's song "Don't Forget Your Shovel". The song's website refer to Luke's dyslexia, the resulting bullying and characters, such as B. A. Baracus, Bruce Lee and Transformers, who would protect him against the bullies. The bypass mentioned in the song is probably the A46 as the band lived in Leamington Spa at the time and the A46 is known locally as "The Bypass". The single was originally released in the United Kingdom in June 2005, when it entered the charts at #160.

Following its release, the song gradually achieved a cult following on the Internet and at film festivals, in part due to the award-winning animated video by Laith Bahrani of Monkeehub. Mainstream coverage and airplay followed, and by 19 November 2005 national newspapers were writing about the song's rise, and possible destiny as Christmas #1.
